The stone varies in colour from deep blue to blue-green of different intensities. Aquamarine is a form of the mineral beryl that also includes other gemstones like emerald, morganite, and heliodor. Beryl consists of four elements: beryllium, aluminium, silicon, and oxygen. It is a relatively hard gem, ranking after the diamond, ruby, sapphire, alexandrite and topaz. Aquamarine is found in Brazil (the world's leading source of gem quality aquamarine for over a hundred years) the Middle East, Russia and several countries in Africa.
