Why a Masterclass?
Falling in love with a piece of jewellery is a wonderful feeling. Understanding why a gemstone is so exceptional makes that connection even stronger. During our masterclasses, we combine expert knowledge with captivating stories, creating an inspiring experience rather than a traditional lecture.
Our sessions are intentionally intimate. Instead of speaking to a large audience, we welcome small groups in a relaxed setting where there's plenty of room for questions, conversation and personal interaction.

The Story Behind BY JACKY
We begin by sharing the story behind the brand, who Jacky is, how BY JACKY was founded and the journey from the very first idea to becoming an established name in the world of fine jewellery. Honest stories about entrepreneurship, challenges and perseverance make this part of the evening both personal and inspiring.
Understanding Diamonds
We explore the famous 4 Cs (Colour, Clarity, Cut and Carat) and explain how these characteristics determine a diamond's beauty and value. We also provide insight into the global diamond market, where approximately 133 million carats are traded each year, with major producers such as De Beers, Alrosa and Rio Tinto playing a significant role.
The Kings of Gemstones
Beyond diamonds, we introduce the world's most celebrated coloured gemstones: rubies, emeralds and sapphires. We discuss their origins, characteristics, durability and the symbolism they've carried for centuries—from sapphires representing wisdom and loyalty to emeralds symbolising love, renewal and inspiration.
Inside the Jewellery Industry
What really happens behind the scenes of the jewellery trade? We take you into the world of international buying fairs in cities such as Antwerp and Vicenza, while explaining the importance of trust, craftsmanship and long-term relationships. We also discuss the Kimberley Process, the international certification scheme established in 2003 to prevent the trade of conflict diamonds.
Lab-Grown vs Natural Diamonds
One of the questions we receive most often is the difference between lab-grown and natural diamonds. We explain both production methods (including High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT) and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD)) and discuss the importance of certification by recognised institutes such as GIA and HRD.
Jewellery Trends & Expert Advice
We conclude each masterclass by exploring current jewellery trends, from ear stacking to timeless white gold and diamond combinations. Along the way, we share practical advice: always purchase certified diamonds, ask whether coloured gemstones are natural or synthetic, and most importantly, choose jewellery that reflects your personal style rather than simply following trends.
A Touch of Fun
To end the evening on a light-hearted note, we often host a jewellery quiz. Questions like When was the first diamond discovered? or Which diamond colour is the rarest? create lively discussions, friendly competition and plenty of surprises.
