STORIES - Mark the Moment

To mark the launch of our Mark the Moment campaign, we interviewed Jacky the founder of byJACKY about the meaning behind this message. In this conversation, she shares her perspective on cherishing life’s milestones, the importance of pausing for significant moments, and how jewellery can transform memories into something lasting.

What does “Mark the Moment” mean to you personally?
For me, life is shaped by the meaningful moments we choose to cherish. These moments whether extraordinary or beautifully ordinary are the ones we carry with us. A birth, a wedding, the achievement of something you’ve worked incredibly hard for, or simply an experience shared with family or friends that becomes deeply significant. I believe every important moment deserves to be marked and celebrated. Life is too short not to pause and acknowledge the moments that truly matter.

Why is it important to consciously pause for special moments, big or small?
In today’s world, everything moves at an incredible pace. We are driven by performance and often rush towards the next milestone without taking the time to appreciate where we are. By slowing down and recognising both the small and the larger moments, you realise how fortunate we really are and that brings a sense of fulfilment. At least, that’s how it is for me. It’s in those moments of awareness that gratitude becomes truly present.

How can jewellery help make memories tangible during the festive season?
For me, creating memories is the most important thing in life. It’s the very reason I entered the world of jewellery. We don’t just sell jewellery; we sell memories. Every significant moment can be marked with a piece that symbolises that specific chapter or reflects who you are at that time. During the holidays especially, jewellery becomes a tangible reminder of love, connection and meaningful experiences something you can carry with you long after the moment has passed.

Do you have favourite pieces of jewellery that you associate with a particular moment or tradition?
Absolutely. I once received a ring with a tiny clock inside from my grandmother for Christmas. I will never forget that gift, especially because she is no longer with us. That ring holds a meaning far beyond its appearance. We also work often with birthstones, which create beautiful personal stories within our collections. And of course, we see many engagements during Christmas: a doubly special moment filled with emotion and tradition.
